Soil Moisture

There are two ways to work with soil. For spot readings, there are portable time domain reflectometry (TDR) meters and a handheld reader that reads SDI-12 soil sensors and displays the waveform. For continuous measurement, buried sensors measure volumetric water content, conductivity and soil temperature.

These sensors connect to solar-powered loggers, wireless stations with a cellular link or sensor networks, and there are ready-made precision agriculture kits and nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium sensors.
