Rugged and self-sufficient, the DS1922L iButton® temperature logger measures temperature and stores each result in a protected memory section at a rate the user defines. It holds a total of 8192 8-bit or 4096 16-bit readings taken at regular intervals from 1s to 273hrs, plus 512 bytes of SRAM for application-specific information and 64 bytes for calibration data.

A logging mission can start right away, after a user-defined delay or when a temperature alarm occurs, and memory and control functions can be password protected.

Communication and mounting

The DS1922L is set up through, and talks to, a host computing device over the 1-Wire® serial protocol, which needs just one data lead and a ground return. Each unit carries a factory-lasered, guaranteed-unique 64-bit registration number for absolute traceability. The stainless-steel package stands up to dirt, moisture and shock, and accessories let you mount the DS1922L on almost any object, including containers, pallets and bags.

Applications

The DS1922L suits long-term temperature monitoring of any object it is attached to or shipped with, such as fresh produce, medical drugs and supplies, and it can also be used in refrigerators and freezers.

Out of the factory, the DS1922L sealing is equivalent to IP56. Aging and use can degrade the seal over time, so for applications with significant exposure to liquids, sprays or similar environments, placing the Thermochron in the DS9107 iButton capsule is recommended.
