Air Pressure Transmitter with SDI-12 Output

Reference
SP1A

Intended for professional environmental and industrial measurement, this transmitter relies on a piezo-resistive sensor that delivers reliable, stable data with an accuracy of ±1.5mbar. Because it uses the SDI-12 protocol, it works with the various data loggers available on the market.

Its high-quality ABS enclosure is sturdy and impact resistant, and a special pressure compensation element fitted in the enclosure box equalizes the pressure.

Overview

Housing and mounting

The IP65 housing gives you plenty of installation options, including wall mounting or fixing the sensor to a mast or a mast boom. The high-quality ABS enclosure, also available in polycarbonate as an option, keeps the sensor sturdy and impact resistant. The pressure compensation element keeps the housing waterproof while letting pressure and temperature equalize. Thanks to the quality of the housing and electronics, the sensor is fully suited to meteorological, agricultural, industrial and other applications.

SDI-12 communication

With its SDI-12 output, the sensor is compatible with every data logger that uses this communication standard. SDI-12 (Serial Digital Interface at 1200 baud) is a serial communications protocol used in environmental measurement.

It works on a simple principle: only an SDI-compatible device with the digital addressing system talks to the pre-configured sensors. If the sensor's configuration does not match, it stays silent in sleep mode. SDI-12 sensors use a three-wire connection.

Calibration

Each sensor is calibrated individually at two temperatures and two pressures before it leaves the manufacturer. If needed, the capacitive sensing element can be recalibrated with specialist equipment.
